Come controllare se una lista IPTV funziona
Guida aggiornata — 2026
- Link troncato o lista vecchia

How to check if an IPTV list works
Updated guide — 2026
Got an M3U list or an Xtream/Stalker portal that "doesn't work"? Before switching provider, check whether the list is the problem. With the IPTV Detector (free, for Windows) you see in seconds which channels, movies and series actually open.
Why a list may not work
- Channels off or removed by the provider
- Expired credentials or an unauthorised MAC
- Slow server or blocked by your ISP
- Truncated link or an old list
Method 1 — The IPTV Detector (recommended)
The IPTV Detector is a free tool for Windows 10/11 that analyses your list and tells you what works:
- Download the Detector from its dedicated page.
- Enter the M3U link, or server + user + password (Xtream), or server + MAC (Stalker).
- Press Analyse: it tests the channels and shows a report.
- Read the result: LIVE, VOD and Series — what opens and how many categories exist.
It also includes a video player: watch channels directly, no VLC needed.
Method 2 — Manual check (VLC)
- Open the M3U link in VLC (Media → Open Network Stream).
- If the list loads, try some channels.
- If some don't play but others do, it's the provider (dead channels).
Limit: VLC doesn't tell you how many channels work, nor separates VOD/Series. The Detector does.
What to look at in the report
- LIVE channels: how many open out of those tested
- VOD (movies) and Series: whether the catalogue responds
- Categories: many means a complete list
- Host and country: the Detector also finds "twin" hosts, without sending your MAC
