Come testare una lista M3U
Aggiornato — 2026
Cosa ti serve
Apri Nexus Checker e usa:
- Apri file — per un file M3U dal disco;
- Apri cartella — per importare tutti i file playlist di una cartella;
- Aggiungi URL — per un link diretto alla lista;
Passo 3 — Leggi i risultati
Per ogni canale trovi:
- Stato: vivo, morto, blocco geo o DRM (pallino verde/rosso);
- Risoluzione (4K/1080p/720p/SD), codec, FPS, bitrate e latenza.
Esporta i risultati:
- CSV — tabella di tutti i canali;
- M3U — la lista completa, oppure solo i canali vivi con lo Split;

Sì: Nexus Checker supporta M3U, URL, cartelle e Xtream Codes.
How to test an M3U playlist
Updated — 2026
You have an M3U list (or a .m3u8 link) and want to know whether the channels really work? With the right program you can do it in minutes, without opening one channel at a time. Here is how to test an M3U playlist step by step.
What you need
- Your M3U list: a
.m3u/.m3u8file, a folder, a URL or an Xtream server. - An M3U validator: on Windows the easiest is Nexus Checker (free).
Step 1 — Load the list
Open Nexus Checker and use:
- Open file — for an M3U file from disk;
- Open folder — to import every playlist file in a folder;
- Add URL — for a direct link to the list;
- Add Xtream — for an Xtream Codes server (host, username, password).
Step 2 — Run the test
Press Scan. The program tries to reach every channel in parallel (up to 20 at a time) and fills the table. You see the progress and the estimated time (ETA). You can pause and resume anytime.
Step 3 — Read the results
For each channel you get:
- Status: alive, dead, geo block or DRM (green/red dot);
- Resolution (4K/1080p/720p/SD), codec, FPS, bitrate and latency.
Use the filters (by group or status) and the search to find a channel quickly.
Step 4 — Get the clean list
Export the results:
- CSV — a table of all channels;
- M3U — the full list, or only the live channels via Split;
- JSON log — the technical detail of the test.
With the live-only M3U you get a clean list, ready to use in any player.
Why test before watching
- Lists change: dead channels stay until you remove them.
- You avoid opening 100 channels to find the 30 that work.
- You understand whether the problem is the list or your connection.

FAQ
Can I test an M3U list without programs?
Partly: you can open the list in VLC, but it won't tell you automatically which channels are alive. A validator like Nexus Checker does it for all channels at once.
How long does it take?
It depends on the length. With several channels in parallel, a 100-channel list takes a few minutes.
Does it work with Xtream lists?
Yes: Nexus Checker supports M3U, URLs, folders and Xtream Codes.
